I had to deal with the same thing. I printed out articles and talked to him about it till he was understood that I am capable now, and if something happens later I am strong enough to handle it. We have been ttc for two months now. He is almost as excited as I am now! They dont understand in the beginning because they are not online reading article after article to figure out what is going on. They just get scared of worse possible scenario without the research.
