I can't believe I am back on this board after saying goodbye six years ago! I never dreamt I would be back, but here I am again.
I was diagnosed with MS seven years ago after I had an array of symptoms which included spasticity and weakness in left leg, balance problems, ataxia, tremors, bladder problems and severe fatigue. Diagnosis was made based on my history, neuro exam and 4/5 lesions on first MRI.
The neuro followed me for a year and although I improved, I had some residual symptoms (left leg weakness and spasticity). Repeat MRI's showed the lesions had healed and no new ones appeared. At this point the doctor said she no longer thought it was MS.
Other than the mild residual symptoms, I had pretty much forgotten I had anything wrong with me. Figured the doctors were right and put it out of my mind. I never had another flare and I fealt great.....until now!
Two weeks ago horrible fatigue developed and slowly my left leg is getting worse. Spasticity is worse than ever, I am having painful spasms and a really hard time walking. Left hand/arm is also slightly weak.
How could I be going through this again after six years? Is it possible they made a mistake and now all these years later it has come back? I do not want to go through this all over again, especially if the outcome is going to be the same. I had made peace with the unanswered questions and do not want to bring them back up.
Is it possible this was always MS? Do you think I should pursue a diagnosis again or just wait and hope it resolves itself for another six years?
Thanks
