When I was on avonex (last year.....no longer take any DMD), my hair fell out in handfuls but eventually grew back.
I did have this happen too, years ago, when I became hyperthyroid ( thyroid working out of control, at high speed), so I agree with the post above....see if doc will check thyroid panel.
