Hi everyone...I hesitate to post this because I have been reading so many of the posts here of people that show so many symptoms for years but have struggled to get a diagnosis due to clear or "not definitive" MRI's. I seem to be on the other end of the spectrum.
A year ago while watching TV the left hand side of my face went numb followed by my left arm, I thought I may have been suffering stroke symptoms.Went to the ER where they admitted me, after a cat scan where they found abnormalities for someone my age. The hospital neuro talked about MS due to scans being typical for MS but confused as sx presented as TIA>A week in hospital, thousands of tests left him straddling both diagnosis. One test found PFO according to technician but cardio says no PFO.
A year later, numerous tests & a change in insurance sends me to new neuro who is stroke specialist..new MRI shows enhancing lesion..she is convinced not stroke and sends me to MS neuro. In the meantime new echo cardiagram shows PFO again along with ADS. MS specialist says 95% sure MS due to lesions on MRI. 2 Spinal taps negative btw. I have been on this TIA/ MS wheel for a year now & just wondering if anyone else is in the same position?
thanks for listening.....
