How many people have lesions but no real sx? PFO?

Hi everyone...I hesitate to post this because I have been reading so many of the posts here of people that show so many symptoms for years but have struggled to get a diagnosis due to clear or "not definitive" MRI's. I seem to be on the other end of the spectrum.

A year ago while watching TV the left hand side of my face went numb followed by my left arm, I thought I may have been suffering stroke symptoms.Went to the ER where they admitted me, after a cat scan where they found abnormalities for someone my age. The hospital neuro talked about MS due to scans being typical for MS but confused as sx presented as TIA>A week in hospital, thousands of tests left him straddling both diagnosis. One test found PFO according to technician but cardio says no PFO.

A year later, numerous tests & a change in insurance sends me to new neuro who is stroke specialist..new MRI shows enhancing lesion..she is convinced not stroke and sends me to MS neuro. In the meantime new echo cardiagram shows PFO again along with ADS. MS specialist says 95% sure MS due to lesions on MRI. 2 Spinal taps negative btw. I have been on this TIA/ MS wheel for a year now & just wondering if anyone else is in the same position?

    thanks for listening.....

    MRI Lesion

Well, my husbdand is going through the frustration of different diagnoses as well. At first they said the lesion in his cerebellum was a tumor (not sure if benign or malignant). He took steroids for three weeks and the tumor disappeared before they could do a biopsy.

He had an MRI on Monday because he was having headaches. The lesions are back. They say it could be lymphoma or MS, not sure. Referred back to neurologist for testing.

Are your lesions on the cerebellum? The not knowing is frustrating.

@LVGirl- Sorry you and your husband are going through this...I have numerous lesions they don't even know how many & many of them are very large. They are also apparently in the white & gray matter & in all the right places & at my last visit they showed me the dreaded "dawson's fingers" lesions. They have never mentioned a tumor to me & I don't have that many headaches although I do suffer from occasional migraines with aura.I am still so new to this & don't have all the technical info as to where my lesions are. I have never had the steroid treatment as yet but I know MS doc wants me to go on meds at next visit. I also passed all the in office neuro testing too. Sorry I am not much help to you..good luck with all the tests!
