WORST song ever in the MRI

LOL... I had an MRI the other evening. As I am one of those aging 80's-forever chicks, I chose the 80's music channel for my session. Well, I was digging most of it, until "Who's Johnny" by El Dabarge came on! What a horrible turd of a song! I had the oddest sensation that I was being tortured at Gitmo.

What's the worst song you ever had to endure in the MRI?

I don't bother with music. I fall asleep in there.

I've never had a bad one yet. In '94 when I had my 1st MRI they told me I could bring in my favorite CDs to listen to. Then in "97 they asked me what radio channel I would like to listen to. Ever since then-"97, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, I have listened to a rock channel----- ROCK ON!!!! And then I also have to concentrate on something to get my mind off the 'COFFIN LIKE FEELING". SOOOOOO- I think about*********sex*********!

How about just the worst songs we can remember?

Can anybody think of anything worse than Bobby Goldsborough's "Honey"?

How about "The Night Chicago Died" ...or "Daddy Please Don't"....or perhaps the most pathatic of all..."Patches"?

        (Dualing Banjo's?)

          really?

I like Who's Johnny! Now I know who it's by, so I can get it for my ipod. The torture I was forced to listen to was not just regular, but techno pop Cotton-eyed Joe. Gag me.

Oh, good! I'm glad my "suffering" brought some good to another person! Makes it all worthwhile! Just don't, for the love of Billie Jean, watch the video on YouTube! What a stinker!

              Pink Floyd - "Comfortably Numb"

Heard it in the tube on my 2nd or 3rd MRI. I started laughing and they had to start the series over after I got control of the giggles.

                That is too funny.

I can't remember the title (gee, what a surprise ) but my last MRI ended just in time because a song I hate was just coming on.

Ooooh oooh, I remember! It was right around Christmas and the song was Christmas Shoes. Oh what an awful song!

Oh, I agree with that one! My hubby likes to spoof that song by singing horribly a la power ballad voice. That song makes my teeth hurt, so sugary-sappy.

On the subject of Christmas songs, I had the horrible thought of being stuck in the MRI while hearing Yoko Ono screeching "Waaaarrr is ooooverrrr... iiiiif youuuuu waaaaant iiiit...."

I don't like listening to the music when having an MRI...It (music) gives me a headache, but I do like listening to the MRI

WHAT MUSIC?? I was never asked if I wanted any.... no fair!

So I had to listen to some awful percussion music (loud clicks, and thumps and such - yea, you remember) that sounded like it came from Outer Space!! - just perfect for feeling like you're in a tiny space capsule, not knowing when you will be back on Earth until someone from the "command center" interrupts and says it over!!

That's awesome, I'd have been laughing uncontrollably too. =)

I notice we are from the same area....they never asked me if I wanted music either! I just got ear plugs handed to me.

                            MRI Music

I got asked for the first time if I would like to have music, yes classical guitar would be nice!!! Couldn't hear a thing over all the clattering and crashing of the machine, only heard a bit of music when they reduced the sound of the machine for whatever the reason, don't think I will bother with it next time.

I, like Seasha and Crazy Cat Lady, didn't get music either!!

Since all three of us are from the Pacific Northwest, I'm wondering if you had your MRI's at OHSU?

If you did, could you give me the name of your Neuro there?
Because I have been assigned to a Parkinson's specialist even though he says I don't have Parkinson, but he can't tell what I have instead

Now being watched and tested for Neurological Movement Disorder, most likely MS.
