    Good writer, new to me

A friend recommended Gail Tsukiyama and specifically 'Women of the Silk.' it takes place in late 20s, early 30s in rural china and follows the path of one main character. it's a fascinating introduction to chinese culture at that time. it's a strong story of sisterhood.
    a very good read!
If i can walk and talk, and see and pee, i'm having a great day!

I'll have to add her to my reading list.

You may also like Lisa See, she is a Chinese-American author that writes a lot of books on chinese women & the culture.

Oh! I love Lisa See's books too! Her newest book "Shanghai Girls" is really good.. two sisters coming to U,S, to meet their arranged marriage husbands.

Actually, I love reading any book about women in different cultures
