Scrabble anyone?

Just wondering if anyone stays home alot because of mobility issues like myself and would like to play scrabble on facebook. My son told me about it at Christmas time and says he plays alot. Said it's loads of fun, and keeps your brain sharp as a tack! Which I need with this ms stuff, he-he!!

This past Sunday he came over and put me on facebook- so I could play. We played it with the board when he lived at home, and I have played it on against a computer person for about 5 or 6 years. Now I use my i-pod to play, not the computer, so I can go all over the house with it. Actually- I can't wait for spring to get here so I can play while sitting outside.

Hope some of you are interested in playing. And don't worry- I'm not a wiz at the game. Gotta remember- with this crazy ms, I am for sure brain challenged, but my neuro said I don't have any black holes there-so no permanent damage! Hubby says he'll be the judge of that!

If I ever could have spelled (which I have never been able to do)
I would play scrabble. My senior high school English teacher told me I would be a great English teacher if I could only spell!

I play Word With Friends on my Kindle Fire. Is that the game you're playing? (I hesitate to play games through FaceBook because you have to open up so much of your profile to the game... )

I just created a game with you Kathy. I only used Words with Friends. I prefer not going through Facebook.
All someone need do is have the game downloaded, search for you and create a game.
Sometimes I have 5 games going at the same time, I play with family who live away.

Thanks for sharing this idea. I just started looking into playing games online and have been trying to figure out some good avenues to use. I am going to go check that out now.

Hi- you know I just saw this message now, but the other day I did see something in my mail but I deleted it as I didn't recognize the name. Sorry about that. Can you try again? When I open it, then what do I have to do to start playing a game with you? As you can tell, I'm not really up on this stuff. My son and dil just put my oldest grandson (8) on Words with Friends yesterday, so he could play with us. I know you have to be on facebook to play- but then you could get on the Words with Friends only- is this right? They won't let him do anything on Facebook till he's 13. He spent Saturday night here and we had a blast between him and me and my hubby. Also plays with his parents now too.

I only put afew pics of the grandkids on Facebook. I too want to keep my privacy, so didn't put any info on it. Just that I was married and a general idea of where I live. I didn't share all my interests and stuff like alot of people do. Our son didn't put his picture on, he is a police detective, instead he put the yellow police tape on --I thought that was funny!!

So- just tell me how or what to do, to play scrabble with you- that would be great!! Do we have to connect as friends first? My son connected with some for me- as I swear I was on break when the brains were passed out!

Wait- a -minute-- just remembered something********

Hey- was that you that I saw on my i-pod (that's what I play on) yesterday- or so, but the name was, I think-- Steve/Dave and a number? Told hubby about it and said I didn't know who that is. After awhile it said they won cause I forfeited or something like that. Now I feel like an IDIOT!! I want to play with others, but don't quite understand it all. DUMB REDHEAD!!

In the words w/friends app look for all your games.
Select the one you want to play on. Top left corner is where you toggle between games.
You also can send a msg. Top right hand corner is a toggle button for playing or msgs.
Can't think of anything else. ?s just ask.

In my former life, I was the teckygecky at work.


My niece back home usually has 15 or so games agoing. That's too much for me.

Thank you for sharing this. I found Scrabble on Facebook and asked my daughter to play against me so I could figure it out. She beat me but I still had fun and plan to continue playing.

I love Words with Friends, but my computer has been blocking access lately (after voluntarily upping my security and privacy settings). What is another way to play besides Facebook?

BTW, I pulled all of my pics off of FB since finding out they have face recognition technology that is pretty accurate. Who knows what the use for that will be in the future? <tin foil hat> It gives me the creeps, and I don't like opening up my profile and friends list to the apps either.

Download the app Words with Friends. In the app there are options on how to start a game.
At the top of the screen is a button, create game. Press it. Choose the option user name. You would enter your friends user name and press create game. The button games takes you to the different games you are playing.

Hubby and I both followed your directions and we can't see a way to get on it without going on Facebook. Are we blind and brain dead perhaps he-he??!!
