Ingredients
2 cups sifted flour
1 scant teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
4-1/2 to 5 Tablespoons unsalted butter
2-1/2 Tablespoons shortening
3/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 cup seedless raisins
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Butter as needed
1/4 cup maple syrup
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions
1 Mix flour, salt, and baking powder; lightly work in shortening and 2-1/2 Tablespoons butter.
2 Mix in milk and beaten egg in alternate amounts.
3 Roll dough 1/2-inch thick into 8x15-inch rectangle.
4 Sprinkle dough with 1/2 cup raisins, granulated sugar and small dots of butter.
5 Roll up dough and cut in 15 (1-inch) slices.
6 Spread bottom of 9x13-inch greased pan with maple syrup.
7 Sprinkle with brown sugar, remaining raisins, and nuts.
8 Press sliced rolls into pan, cut side down.
9 Bake in preheated 425-degree oven about 15 minutes.
