    Sausage and Pecan Corn Bread Pie

    Ingredients
    1 pound fresh pork sausage
    1 cup yellow cornmeal
    1 cup flour
    1/4 cup sugar
    4 teaspoons baking powder
    1 egg
    1 cup milk
    2 Tablespoons oil
    1/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans

    Directions
    1 Brown pork sausage, separating into pieces.
    2 Pour off drippings.
    3 Sift together cornmeal, flour, sugar, and baking powder.
    4 Add egg, milk, and oil.
    5 Mix to combine thoroughly.
    6 Fold in sausage and pecans.
    7 Turn batter into greased 9-inch glass pie plate.
    8 Bake at 400 degrees 30 minutes or until well done.

    MAKES 6 servings
