Ingredients
6 cups flour
2 cups shortening
1 Tbsp salt
Directions
1-Sift and measure flour.
2-Add salt to flour and sift into a large bowl.
3-Cut in fat until the pieces are the size of a pea.
To Use for Pie Crust:
1-For a single pie crust, 9-inch pie, use 1-1/2 cups of mix.
2-Blend in about 2 to 3 Tablespoons cold water.
3-Add water by the teaspoon, mixing gently with fork.
4-When all particles are moistened, press into a cake; roll out.
5-For double crust, use 2 cups mix and 3 to 4 Tablespoons cold water.
Rich Brownies
Directions
1-STIR TOGETHER: 1-1/2 cups pastry mix, 1-1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 tsp baking powder.
2-Add 3 eggs, 2-1/2 squares melted chocolate, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
3-Stir vigorously.
4-Pour into greased 10x10x2-inch pan.
5-Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes.
6-Cut into squares while hot.
Sugar Cookies
Directions
1-Stir together 2 cups pastry mix, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon soda.
2-Add 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
3-Blend well.
4-Shape dough into 1-inch balls, place balls 3-inches apart on cookie sheet.
5-Flatten by pressing with fork or bottom of a small glass.
6-OR shape dough into a roll, wrap in wax paper, chill, then slice.
7-Bake at 375 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes.
8-Cool on baking sheet 2 to 3 minutes before removing.
9-FOR VARIATION, add 1/2 cup raisins, chopped dates, coconut, or nuts.

3-Stir vigorously and blend well before chips are added.
4-After chips are added, stir just enough to mix.
5-Drop from a teaspoon onto baking sheet.
6-Bake at 375 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes.
MAKES 4 dozen cookies.
