Who is finding success with dietary changes?

Wondering who out there has made significant dietary changes and seeing positive results?

What are you doing or not doing to make improvements?

I am asking this because I have been following the Paleo diet now for about 4 weeks and I am feeling better. I want to think it is the dietary changes and not all in my head.

About a year ago I started changing my diet and supplement, and the noticeable improvements is what keeps me on it.
And keeps me fine tuning it, to get even better health.

Now I have also started Ampyra, has a sinus issue fixed and been exercising better for the past four months, so I can’t give diet all the credit.
But I feel it has played a important part, and the thought of going back to my old way of eating scary and does not even sound tasty any more.

I believe even people should create their own diet, based of their own health issues, vitamin/supplement needs and Taste!

One aspect that any MSer diet should have as its foundation is anti-inflammation.
I prefer the IF system, and you can find out more on the a NutritionData.com.

One health issue I’m 100% sure has been corrected by anti-inflammation diet, is my ON (optic neuritis).
A few sodas or other inflammatory foods will exacerbate my ON, during my last eye exam my eye doctor could not see any signs that I had ON.

With everything I have been doing, I been able to completely stop take blood pressure meds.
Because I was getting BP readings of 104/62 I know for a fact it was not just something in my head.

      Thanks Sir,
The MS specialist I see at the Rocky Mountain MS center refers to lesions as inflammation in a youtube video he has made about MS.

I have found that the anti inflammatory diet has made me feel so much better overall. I too take supplements and exercise so I'm not sure if it is a combination of them all or if one is playing a more important role than the other.

I am unfamiliar with the IF system, I'll check out the website.

      Thanks for the info!

BIG Changes from diet and supplements

        Hi there,

I have also started to supplement and change my diet.

I currently take fish oil, vit D, CoQ10, B-12, flaxseed oil, calcium, magnesium. I have noticed a HUGE change in my nerve pain and fatigue issues. in fact, I have stopped taking Gabapentin and only use when it flares up.

Bloodwork revealed my vitamin D levels were non-existent and I noticed a difference in my energy level right away when I started taking vitamin D. Then I started researching other vitamins and minerals bc I would much rather take that over prescriptions, if at all possible. When I started with this regimen I started feeling better each day; its been about 3 months since I started and I am so grateful I did!

I saw a nutritionist and she suggested trying an anti inflammatory diet and to limit my sugar intake, especially with packaged sugary foods such as hostess cakes, etc.

Now I have the energy in the morning to do approx 30 mins of cardio per day M-F and I've started lifting weights as well!! I haven't had the energy to exercise for 2 yrs...I am a believer in diet and supplementation.

        Good luck!

Thank you for this! Just the info. I was searching for. I'm somewhat new to all this. I've taken Avonex for 7 months now(not working & dr. wants to change it) but there has to be something more "I" can do to help myself, ie;diet/nutrition, love the site, NutritionData.com!.
