Why is b-12 so hard to get? They will give you anti-depressants, madical marijuana...but no b-12? I just wanted energy. The pills don't work, need the shots...and I keep getting turned down. Does this make sense to anyone?

have they tested your b12,blood wise? my fam doc is very easy about b12 shots but he does check my blood level and even if its slightly low he gives it. -
B12 overdoses can be dangerous, hence why the shots are hard to get. If you get blood work and a prescription, you should have no problem. Be careful with vitamins. Just because they are easy to get doesn't mean you should take them without talking to your doctor.Comment

Is it your doctors or insurance company saying no, I ask because I know a B-12 prescription is dirt cheap.
So if it is the insurance just get it filled with out them, it will likely only cost you a dollar or two more then your co-pay.
If it is your doctor, be sure he understands it is a B-12 INJECTION that you are wanting.
I had that issue with a doc before.
If that is or even if it is not the issue, get a B-12 level blood test.
And get a copy of it, and read it yourself.
I think it needs to be above 400 for nerve health, not the above 200.
