    Legumes

    Good Morning All

    I have a clean diet (no red meat, sugar, fats (some) I don't drink or smoke anymore

    Recently I got a book (audible) advertised on FB.

    It was How to Live Symptom Free.

    The author said to stay away from beans! I thought beans

    were good for you

    What's your take?

    Was beans can be a very good source of protein.
    My second thought may be deleted by the mods.

      You're asking a question that's a matter of 1/2 science and 1/2 opinion. It depends on which theories and evidence you trust. So you'll have to do your research and make your choice... Coke or Pepsi, Cat or Dog, Running or Swimming.

        Legumes

        I've read about this also. Legumes (including peanuts!) apparently contain certain lectins, making them bad for people with MS. I'm not sure if not eating them will help, but what the hey? Read up on Nightshade veggies, too. Bad lectins, apparently.

          I was gluten and dairy free and only started feeling better once I got rid of the legumes.

          I've always kept gluten away.

          I reintroduced some forms of dairy- per Tara and no problems.

          I tried reintroducing legumes and felt worse every time. So for me it's been no legumes.

          Stinks, because I loved ham and beans with corn bread.
          Don't be afraid of the waves- Focus on the MASTER walking on the water - you won't even SEE the waves
