    List of foods

Where can I find a list of foods that are good for those with MS?

I like some of the guidance on a website called Direct MS.

It depends on which theory you ascribe to:
      • All MS diets encourage a very healthy diet and low low saturated fat. That should be avoided.
      • Some eliminate milk products, though some allow fermented dairy such as cheese and yogurt.
      • Some don't allow gluten and legumes
      • All pretty much dissallow processed and fried foods
You will be healthier and feel better and trimmer than you have in years!

I think I've posted the best links for the MS diets. You can look at them and learn and read. If you have access to a naturopath in your area, that may also be good to get individualized treatment. But you can do this on your own together with people here. Those who know , please add/correct me as necessary.

Note that vitaminD supplementation is also a necessity.

      1) Leaky Gut Cause of MS (Avoiding gluten, but depends on blood testing) a leaky guy allows protiens to cross from the gut to the blood causing an auto-immune reaction.

      2) Molecular Mymicry (avoiding Milk). Milk is similar to Mylen and creates an auto-immune reaction.

      3) Saturated fat (Avoiding all types of saturated fat, including some or all animal flesh).

      4) Eliminating all animal products

BigA makes the best points and gave you the best examples of a very complex subject. There are lots of acceptable foods to eat on MS diets. But there are a lot of foods to avoid. The answer is not to list the foods but the answer is to decide which foods to eat, how much in quantity, how to prepare them, and so on.

That complexity is the reason to get on a diet plan that has been designed and tested for this disease. Swank, McDougall, Jelinek, Wahls. All medical doctors who found some reliable dietary answers. And these plans meet or exceed the USRDA standards. So these plans are not fads or untested.
        Good luck on your journey.

          Thanks JerrryD.

Basically, one chooses between diets 1, 3 and 4 depending on which evidence you trust and which diet you're most likely to keep.
