    SOY LECITHIN!

I'm trying to follow the MS Recovery Diet. One of the
basic tenets is to avoid legumes, including SOY.

Been reading labels...a new past-time...only to
discover that soy lecithin is in all of my favorite
"disney" (with a little d) herb teas: Celestial
    Seasons and Bigelow's .

    Expletive!!

I've already given up, or rather, choose to no longer
partake in the imbibing there-of, alcohol, caffeine,
aspertame containing beverages. But herb tea?!?!
Sand was created to have lines drawn in it! And
here's where I'm drawing mine! (my, that sounds
    rather defiant, doesn't it?).

That said, where does everyone come down on the
great soy lecithin dilemma? Any thoughts? Or better
yet, any convenient rationalizations to get around
    this??

soy lecithin is made from soy oil - so it doesn't contain soy protein - which can cause an "allergic" reaction.

HOWEVER! soy is the most genetically modified food....the reason to avoid it!

You need Lecithin to repair/stabilize myelin, along with B12.

You may want to consider taking a Lecithin supplement, which usually comes from soy oil.

        limbo,

if you are a big tea lover (like me) why not try loose leaf herbal teas? if your town has a whole foods or another health food store with bulk bins you can buy all kinds of teas by the pound. it is surprisingly inexpensive because tea is dried and therefore weighs very little. they taste MUCH better than the bagged teas and as far as convenience, just buy a mesh tea ball. they come in all sizes, are reusable and best of all, your beloved tea will not have funny additives in it. many of the teas are also organic so you can avoid pesticides and what not as well.

i love tea. i drink it almost all day everyday. if someone told me i could no longer drink tea i would throw a major fit too!
