Can you go see your family doctor?

If they left any bit of endometrial tissue behind, it *can* regenerate, causing your period to make a reappearance. All I can say is to find an OB/GYN to take a look. Good luck!
Diagnosed with RRMS on 3/15/2013...beware the ides of March!
        Rebif from 5/2013 - 09/2014.
        Gilenya since 11/2014.
Also taking vitamin D3, fish oil, magnesium, and B12.

          Re: Need some female advice

For what it is worth, I will give some female advice. I had a hydro ablation about 6 or 7 years ago. Before having the procedure my gynie told me that I would still likely have periods but that they would likely be very light. He explained why (don't think it's necessary to try to remember his exact reasons but they made sense). I have had extremely light periods (about 1-2 days needing only about 1 light pad per day).

I say this to let you know that it is not unusual to have a period after an ablation. However, since you have had no period for 8 years, this is obviously a change for you. I know that your gynie has died, but does that mean you have not seen a gynecologist in several years? At the time that I had my ablation, my doctor also stressed the importance of regularly yearly pap smears.

I have heard of women having to repeat ablations because they "wear off"?! Not sure of the validity of these claims.

I would highly suggest that you not "freak out", but that you would find a new gynecologist and have a check-up. Even if you have seen your regular physician for check ups, if it was me, and given your history, I would see the specialist.

Again, this is all just my opinion, but I give it because we women need to help each other out with these kind of questions. Hope this may be of even some slight help. Jil

Yes, cataglist, you need to get this checked. As others have said, it's no reason to panic, but you shouldn't ignore it either. Even if the person you see is only 26, she should know what should be checked, and if she's a PA or nurse, to whom she should refer you. These are common knowledge kinds of issues, not something requiring a super-duper specialist.

This is probably nothing serious, but you need to find out ASAP.

I agree that it is a good idea to get it checked. Even though the doctor is 26, that doesn't mean she is a bad or completely inexperienced doctor. It's good to have a fresh set of eyes on things and sometimes new doctors are more vilgilant in checking things.

I had an ablation two years ago for heavy bleeding. Last October I woke up one morning and was completely drenched in blood. It was that bad! That "period" lasted couple days and then it was done. I didn't go to the dr but will mention it next appt.

BTW, my dr is young ...late 20's ... I like him and am confident in his skill and knowledge.

There is a possibility that the bleeding is not directly related to the ablation. All the more reason to have your dox' office PA/RN or whatever take a look.

Age has little to do with the credentials.

I had ablation 10 years ago...no discharge since. fed

You definitely need to se an OB/GYN asap. Unusual bleeding can be a symptom of several different rhings, some serious and some not. It may not be a problem with your ablation at all and you may be in need of medical intervention. Please don't delay- just find a gyno and have them take a look.
