Not really new, but I was gone for awhile

    Hello all,
Well it looks like I may not be in limbo land much longer. After having double vision in my left eye I went back to the neuro and she noticed my optic disc was not as crisp in that eye. About a day after getting blood tests done I was called to schedule a lumbar puncture. Now I am just awaiting for the results and the next step. She stated some of her thinking it is MS or pseudo tumor cerebri, but the pseudo tumor cerebri is now ruled out.

At least I finally found a neuro who listens and is trying to help me find an answer. My best advise to anyone out there is you always have the right to a second, third, or even fourth opinion.

I agree absolutely. And my best advice to anyone is to be sure to see the most appropriate specialist for the symptom/problem.

For eye and visual issues, the most appropriate specialist is an ophthalmologist.

Sparkles, did you see an ophthalmologist about your double vision and internal eye signs, and what did s/he say about them?

She stated that on the left it food look like there's a little bit of blurring of the top portions of the optic disc. What is weird too is she said when I go to focus on a very close up objects, she's suspecting more of a cranial nerve issue. She asked if I had an MRI and I did it was in March. The weird thing was it showed absolutely nothing. I couldn't discern the inner letters because it's like they converge/blur together. She suspected it's either a pressure issue or maybe there's a lesion behind the optic chasm. I am guessing if the CSF and blood studies show something then it's back to another MRI to confirm.

WELCOME BACK! It is great to have you back with us!
I think you are exactly right about having more opinions.
It is also important that you feel confident in your doctor, and it seems as if you do. it is also very important to have confidence in your support team.
it seems as though you have done well in your choices so far.
        Continued good luck to you.

Thanks for the update. The CSF and blood studies aren't able to show anything related to a lesion or eye pressure, so it's going to take another MRI to try to find the lesion(s). If you'd like, let us know what happens.

No, but I think she is looking for the oligoclonal banding and she said she was running an MS panel. Plus I am figuring for the approval for the MRI since it hasn't been a year.

Then I go for my annual and I had protein in my urine. Since the CMP was fine, I am thinking this is more stress related.

I am also just sick of the exhaustion, that's the other part of this whole issue I am completely over. I used to do Zumba twice a day, this is ridiculous.

The CSF didn't show anything which is good but now it's time to not an MRI February 3rd with results the next day. I would just like my vision issue to resolve. Its really hard to use tweezers and other things when there is the blurring and double vision, particularly up close. I am a hoping she thinks it's more eye related since it's an MRI of the brain and her nurse said a special view of the orbits and nerves?

Those second opinions are GOOD TO GET. No ONE neuro is the "end all be all"
                Peace to all,

Well I thought my Appointment for my follow up for my MRI was February 3rd and it's actually March 3rd. However, since I showed up by accident they gave me a sooner appointment of a week from tomorrow. I also got a copy of my report. There was mild global volume loss noted for age and a small focus of t2/ flair hyper intense signal in the juxtacortical left superior frontal gurus is nonspecific white matter.

My previous one last March was completely clear so it will be interesting to see where we go from here.
