    Leisions in Gray Matter

Hi all! This is my first time posting. I've almost been afraid to post because I'm just not sure about anything these days. I will write more when I'm not so tired. I've been diagnosed as Probable MS and my Neurologist is sending me to a MS Specialist at the Marshfield clinic. I'm not going to get in to all the symptoms (which are many) but my question to all you seasoned MS'ers I have 24 leisions small to moderate in the gray matter. Nothing highlighted in white matter. Also.....my next question out of a million can you have tremors in both hands at the same time??? I love you all as I've read so many posts and respect each and everyone. I hope your kindness and knowledge will help answer these two questions. Thank you in advance..............Susie

MS can and does have lesions in the gray matter. Its uncommon not to have any in the white matter. However, your MS specialist will deal with this for you. They will decide if you have MS or need further testing.

Your second question about tremors in the hands? The answer is yes, you can have tremors in both hands at the same time depending on where your lesions are.

You probably need a spinal MRI done at least. I hope things go well for you! Let us know how it goes.

Yes 2 "can u have tremors in both hands"

Hello, hope you do not have this disease. Wanted u to know this was one of my first symptoms . They are 'essential tremors' that worsened upon movement-like just lifting my hand up a little. I think (and anyone can correct me on this please) this type of tremor has nothing to do w/ R or L side functioning. It a part of another system. I understand this doesn't make sense although I totally understand what I am saying. In other words, cognitive thinking isn't impaired on just the l or r side. Somebody help me (I have a big frontal lobe lesion, hence the inability to put my 'thinking' together/and coming up with the words I want).

One (maybe) good thing is although I had these for 10 years; they all of a sudden went away. They reappear from time to time for a short time but I am sure they will reappear some day. or not...

        Gray Matter Gal!!!

Thanks for both of your responses. I had an MRI which showed the 24 leisions. Had LP and that was good. VEP was abnormal. Have spasms, I sometimes feel like I have a motor inside my leg and also happened in my hand one time. Numbness, balance issues etc. The worst is my exhaustion. It's killing me along with cognitive issues. The unknown is slaying me. In 1994 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia but this feels so different and has been going on and off for eight months. When I have a good day I don't want it to end. I'm a bit shy and don't share my feelings alot with friends because the just DO NOT GET IT!!! I just want to feel safe somewhere. I'm divorced with no children and my family is far away. My chest gets tight at times. Could someone help on that one. I've suffered depression since I was 13 so I'm definately familiar with that. I need some pals here so soon I will do a proper introduction. One last thing I have RLS and a couple times at night when I've been resting my left leg flew up in the air. Have to admit this is a bit scary. Again...........thanks for the replys new friends.

          Hi

You should be able to find 'alot' of friends here. Most of us have felt all of the things you are feeling. MS can cause bad depression so that is my first concern for you since you have had issues with it since an early age. You are probably taking some meds for it. I don't know if you are able to do any kind of exercise, maybe not...but if you can-exercise is SOOO good for depression. I can't do it nymore but I used to work out 15-20 hours a week and nothing can get you high like working out.

That Restless Leg Syndrome is 'awful' isn't it? Hoping you are able to get some relief from that.

Now, I have forgotten the other points in your post I was going to reply to but will do it again soon. Here's hoping you feel better today. I am also alone here with my animals with most people absolutely not able to understand us. But, I understand u.

Thanks KiKi!!!! It helps knowing you care. Plese reply the rest of the info you were going to. Did you have these systems and also does a Dr. ever go on his gut feeling to treat patients. Probable MS sounds to me like I have the beginning stages. I've had some relief in the 8 months but the exhaustion overwhelms me. Yes, I have been on meds for years for depression but not feeling well intensifies it. Have you ever had multiple Charlie Horses or any of the symptoms besides RLS that I have. I'm on neurontin 3200mgs. and sometimes no relief. Thanks new Pal!

Same here except; I've found more than one way to get high!

              Hey diamond, welcome to MS World;
The medications are not something any doc would just whack you with. The side effects and Cost can be too much.
Just wanted to say High and welcome. fed

Just wanted to stop in and say hello to you and all newcomers here! When you are on this forum, I promise you'll never feel alone. There are so many caring, informative folks who, like me, will walk this journey along side you.

I must admit I forget to stop here, as I usually go to the General Discussions area and don't always come back to this section.

So don't forget to stop in Gen Discussions too as there are so many folks reading and posting there.

Take this a day at a time. Post often and you'll find the help you need.

                  Warmly, Jan
