    Hi from CT

So Ive mostly been a lurker...been in the chat room a few times...i was diagnosed in 2004...done avonex, campath, currently on copaxone which isnt working...so doing a steroid booster once a month...but over the last few weeks....ive had a lump show up on my thyroid gland...a side effect of the campath was the increased chance of thyroid cancer developing...

doc called today to tell me my platelets dropped by 152,000....so..not been a great couple of months...got two wonderful kids who understand when mom isnt well....and a husband who would rather me not work at all...but im just not there yet....so well...i guess thats me....lol

Welcome, peacenharmony!! Lurk no more - We're glad you're here.

I'm sorry you're going through a rough time and hope it gets resolved quickly. Having a great support system with your family is crucial to your well-being. (How old are your kids?) You will have a great support system here as well, so don't be shy and post away!

Hi from CT- a fellow CT Yankee

      PeacenHarmony,

Hi from another CT resident. Twain wove a great tale about a CT Yankee at the round table- Alice in Wonderland seems a better genre for MS.

I was Dx'd in March 2010. I've been seeing Guarnaccia at Griffin since then. I am also planning to work as long as I can. I function there - keeping anything that's works is important. Good luck with you family. I hope the Campath problems work out.

One piece of valuable advice I keep finding is that not everything can be blamed on MS. It's hard to remember that when it gets overwhelming.

MSWorld is a place to unload if you need to. We help each other!

      Good luck, Glenn

Your post caught my eye as I have an appointment with Dr. G. tomorrow! After 8 years, I still don't know one personal detail about him (married, kids, why be an M.S. Specialist? Gotta have a reason!). He plays it close to the vest. I have noticed that some woman with the same last name appears in some of my CT MS Society literature, but I'm too chicken to ask him if this is a relative. He seems to know his stuff, but not the kind of guy I'd want to have a beer with or anything.

Welcome (sounds odd doesn't it) sorry you've had to join us. I know how tough it is to leave work; I went through that in Oct., but I have no regrets. I miss it from time to time, and I often still dream about the teaching that I did, but I don't have the headaches anymore and I'm less tired than I was. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Dx 12/2006; first symptoms about 1984, but maybe earlier--on Gilenya and Ampyra.
