Does anyone else have to reset password EVERY time?

I don't know why but I've been back on this site again more the past several weeks, and every single time I try to log in, I get a message that my username or password are not recognize and I have to reset my password. At first I thought maybe I just wasn't remembering my password correctly, but I've confirmed that's not the case. Between being forced to re-log-in every 2 hrs and now having to reset my password any time I want to post on here, this site sure isn't making it easy to participate!

It took 4 years and 13 weeks for me to be able to post. You're lucky.

        A box saying 'remember me'

Is on that screen below where your password goes. Be sure to check that when you log in.
And say you want to remember the password if anything pops up asking you. This probably depends on your browser too.

You should NOT have to change your password every time you log-on to our site. Here's the way I log on:

          • go to www.msworld.org
          • put username and password into appropriately marked boxes
          • push the "login" box.

Most likely, you're receiving that message because you haven't logged out since your last visit. If that's the case, LOG OUT and immediately log back in. Always log out once you leave the site to avoid this problem.

I avoid having to even remember my name and password by using either Firefox or Google Chrome as my browser (never Internet Explorer...that browser sucks, IMHO ). Both of the previously mentioned browsers ask you if you want them to remember the information you just typed in. Choose yes, and you're good to go!

It is best that you change that password to something of your choosing. Once logged in look on the right side of the page and click on My Account. Click the Edit tab.
When typing your chosen password you may see a notice that your password is not secure enough. That is only a suggestion - any password will work! Scroll down and click Save."
Yes, this. It sounds like a temporary password problem.

(I use Roboform for most passwords - it works across Internet explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera browsers) and can itself be password protected if, for example, you use a shared home computer and don't want those pesky kids meddling with your stuff.

I did change my password and I would save the new password that I had changed it to and it wasn't working.
However, I haven't had this problem in the last several days so for some reason my latest password stuck. Thanks all!

I used to THINK that I had to reset my password every time, because logging in did not work until I did.

However, I discovered that, if I logged in, logged out, and logged in again, then it worked.

Now, since some things have been "fixed", I have a new problem. When I log out, even if I close the whole MSWorld site, when I open it again, I am already logged in, even though I tried to log out.

                  Redwings had the same problem
                  (http://www.msworld.org/forum/showpost.php?p=1322653&postcount=29)

I suggested logging out to clear the cookies set by the forum but as you've already tried that you may need to do what Redwings did and manually delete the cookies set by MSWorld in your browser.

If you're happy enough doing that by yourself, great. If you need a bit of help let me know which browser (and version) you are using and I'll see if I can assist (or perhaps someone else can?).

Have tried logging off. Tried resetting cookies. Am still logged in, as soon as I get into the site.

OK. The not-able-to-log-out problem is solved. I'm back, though, to having to log in, log out, and log in a second time.

Oh well. Fairly inconvenient and ridiculous. But, it works.

Here's a new one! I log out and the next time I try to log in, it doesn't recognize my password that I've used for a long time. But no problem! I just click on the message boards and I have full access anyway.
