NEED ADVICE ON FILING FOR SSDI

I am now in the process of filing for SSDI. All my doctors are supportive including the Neuro that diagnosed me almost 6 years. Have a great letter from my PCP and waiting to pick up letter from last and current Neuro's.

I also be recieving a letter from Louisiana Vocational Rehab stating I cannot be placed for employment due my level of disability.

I have all my medical records including hospital records. And that brings me to my question.

Should I submit all my hospital records which include hospital stays that pertain to breathing problems due to bronchitis and, emphysema? Or, should I just submit the records that pertain to MS? More specifically those records pertain to stays for an exacerbation and serious
    reactions to IVSM.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I noticed no one has responded to your question yet.

I'm no expert. My SSDI claim was approved fairly quickly (3 months) with no attorney and no denials. But, I don't have a lot of experience with having medical records for more than one issue.

Well, maybe sort of, I do. I submitted all of my medical records (PCP, neuro, Mayo Clinic, hospital records, etc). And, I'd had two surgeries, a number of years prior to filing my SSDI application, so I'm guessing they were in there too. (It was a long time ago.)

Anyways, it probably can't hurt, right? We probably can't include too much?

I was advised to just submit doctors/medical records related to MS and disability. So for me, PCP, neuro, urologist, opthalmologist, physical therapist, psychiatrist and neuropsychiatrist, and orthopedist due to injuries from falls.

SSDI pulled all PCP records then, not just MS specific. So they got a lot more than MS. Likewise, with orthopedist.

I also did include hospital records for few ER treatments related to bronchial asthma, which I always get now after any respiratory infection. I am on Tysabri, so some immune suppressant properties and side effect of respiratory infections which put me down for the count 3-8 weeks, 2-3 times a year. So SSDI able to see that since on Tysabri, infections tripled for me.

But if not MS related, but you have a chronic condition that is contributing to your missing time from work or being able to do a job, I would include it. So if by chance you don't meet the SSDI criteria for MS alone, you can still get it due to coexisting conditions.

Good luck! Sorry you need to apply.

ADVICE FOR "NEED ADVICE ON FILING FOR SSDI"

My Lawyer had me send him everytime I went to the Doctors or a specialist, for anything.
A Form: Saying Doctors Name, Dates Visit, prescription or anyother notes, and A recheck date.

That way He wouldn't have any surprsises and He basically chose what to use. I can't not state this enough and this is for anyone who reads this. Have a Lawyer better chances of getting disability.

I know this from experience and a lot of years filing where my time period for SSDI expired and they wouldn't look at the paper work, where I got a lawyer and was able to get SSI. It didn't take a couple months for the results in my case, it was decided I would get the ssi right then an there instead of taking a long time to make a decision on it. I don't know who you are but I will keep you in my thoughts because I know how fustrating it is.
