    SSI denied--have questions before appealing

    Good Morning!

Here is some background. My son is 23 and has many, many symptoms of MS but no lesions. His illness started 3 years ago and has been progressively getting worse. He has great neurologists from Barrows Neurology center and Irvine University neurology center. He has been diagnosed with spasticity, Mild Cognitive Inparement (MCI), fibromyalgia and an undiagnosed emergent neurological disorder (in other words since he doesn't have lesions they do not know what is causing some of his other symptoms). His symptoms are being treated with medicines but his doctors recommended that he apply for disability since he has trouble functioning just with day to day normal activities and hasn't been able to work for over a year.

He applied for SSI and just received his denial of benefits. We have 60 days to appeal and we would like to hire a attorney who deals specifily with SSI but we do not know where to find a reputable attorney in his area. No one in our families have had to deal with this before and we are at a lost. We were shocked when he was denied.

Where can we find a good resource for a SSI attorney in the greater Los Angeles area? We do not live in that area but our son lives in Fullerton so we do not know anyone to ask.

We appreciate any help you can give us.

    Thanks
Working...
