    Question?

I will be 64 this month. I have been on disability for six years. I have recently returned to work part time. I am being offered 12,000 a year for what I am doing for $8400 after working for a year. Can I accept and still stay on disability? I will be doing no more than I am now? Thank you......

SGA and TWP, these are a few of my favorite things

Hi, kittin. $12,000 per year averages out to less than the current SGA amount of $1,010/month Substantial Gainful Activity Amount for non-blind employees in the year 2012. Earnings over $720/month, however, are considered a Trial Work Period, which could trigger a continuing disability review. Also, keep in mind IRWEs - Impairment Related Work Expenses, which can lessen your earnings. Here's some more info from SSA's website: http://www.socialsecurity.gov/work/r...gbenefits.html.

Please talk to your attorney or SSA regarding your specific situation.
