I just got an approval letter in the mail saying my benefits will start in about a month or so. I have seen other posts on here about reciving benefits for children. Is that just for SSI or for SSDI also? My benefits letter doesnt mention dependents at all. Do I need to do something else to receive benefits for my kids? Do I have to wait until I receive my first check to check into it? Any info would be awesome! If I understand right, benefits for children are about half of mine? is that per child? or is it the same no matter how many kids you have?

I got a form to fill out for my daughter, she had to take it to school and have it signed there and mail it back to them. , it is a form saying that she is in school and if she stops going they are to notify SS. I went to the SS office and got the form and gave them some info about here along with a copy of birth certficate, and handcarried the ltr back to the office, she rcvd her back pay in about a week and a 1/2. Very simple.
