    Another weird symptom

I have had a few times when I have been driving and suddenly realized that my thinking was slow and not quite right and got myself home. That was one odd thing, hard to explain but then this othet thing happened a few times.

The last rime I was in the pool just finishing up aqua aerobics class and everything had been fine. Suddenly, like a switch was tripped everthing looked different and felt different, like disassociation. I felt like I needed to get out of the pool NOW . I am not heat sensitive normally so I headed to the the jacuzzi while I figured out what the heck was happening. Only it got worse and several of my classmates were alarmed. I got out of there and went back into the pool to cool down, thinking that would help. Not.! My classmates were afraid to leave me. I got out and made my way into the locker room feeling unsteady on my feet. I got dressed, went to my car and drove home with the windows down and the cold air helped some. I asked my classmates what they had seen in my face to alarm them, as I had not said a word. They said it looked like I was about to pass out, before the hot tub.

This has happened a few times but so rarely I just usually try to get somewhere safe where I can lay down till it passes. Four days after that little ugly surprise, the same feeling happened at home. What the heck is that? I describe the weird dizzy, feeling of movement thing that happens often, as the one that many people pay good money to get without the buzz that goes with it . Any ideas what the pool thing was ?

    Hi Vervette,

Slow "processing speed" is just one of the cognitive changes people with MS can experience.

The pool incident sounds like an anxiety attack.

Talk to your neuroIogist about these symptoms. There are things he/ she can recommend that may help.

    Best of luck. ,
