I was DX as having MS in 2008 but a DNA test showed negative. However , it feels like I do have it; pain etc. BUT, it seems not as disabling as the definition of MS says. What do you think?
I am confused.

Hi David not sure I can help after reading your post Im a little confused, you were DX in 2008 how? there is a procedure the neurologist follow to tell if you have MS or not, the Neurologist would have some MRI's done over a period of time and a lumber puncture if these were done and the neurologist said you have MS that should be that, what were your symptoms before DX, also being disabling with RRMS you can go for long periods between symptoms, flare-ups, in the early periods of my MS I would go numb over certain parts without pain these would go away sometimes for a year or more before something else would happen, but the fatigue would stay with me always.
I never thought about DNA test or how this would DX MS good luck with your search for answers Craig

We,on this message board, are not professional medical people. Some members are, some not. The fact that you had a DNA test to assist in your diagnosis, makes me believe that you are 'barking up the wrong tree'!
All you need to know about MS is it's a disease that cannot be cured, at this time! You need to consult an MS 'specialist' neurologist . That doctor would be able to answer all questions abut your health condition. But a DNA test..really ? Sounds a little confused ! Good luck
