    Crazy painful acid reflux

I've had acid reflux disease since my 20's, had esophageal erosions by my 30's. But...I have NEVER had it this bad. Can MS worsen GERD if it is already there? Yes, some swallowing changes but not enough to cause choking.

    Wondering the same thing

Three weeks before my first relapse that led to diagnosis of MS I was in the ER with very painful acid reflux. I have never had a problem with this, not even when pregnant. It lasted almost two weeks and then suddenly went away.

The next week I got pins and needles, double vision, weakness, drop foot all classic MS symptoms but I have always wondered if the acid reflux could have been MS related. I asked my neuro at the time, not an MS specialist, and he said no. I forgot to ask the MS specialist when I saw him.

I have only had problems with acid reflux a few times since but each time I have also had a pseudo flare with pins and needles related to UTI. Could just be coincidence but it seems relate to me.

      I wonder

There are so many possible symptoms it gets overwhelming. My RA is flaring horribly. I was "un diagnosed" with RA, then re-diagnosed, the un-diagnosed. Al because it wasn't showing up in my hands. Well, now it is.

And I am now having another round of the reflux. I don't cry while in pain very often. I cry over happy things and occasionally when I'm sad. I didn't cry during child birth. I didn't cry when I got two SI joint injections and the anesthetic hadn't worked for the right one. I didn't cry when I woke up after my hysterectomy in recovery and the morphine hadn't been started yet. I occasionally cry when I have a RA flare that doesn't respond to meds and I have cried during a migraine.

But this reflux makes me cry. It is so overwhelming.
