    Is this a flare?

Only dealing with RRMS since 2012 not sure about what is a flare or new symptom. Balance and fatigue my biggest issue . Lately my legs have felt like Gumby and balance not good. Prior to the last few weeks I was very active, exercise, travel, etc.ninjust had a massage...did that set something in motion? Thanks for any responses.

    Hi,
Per the National MS Society, this is link for their definition (is too long to copy/paste here):

    http://www.nationalmssociety.org/abo...ons/index.aspx

Hope this helps. I think it's the guideline that most will go by.

    Good luck with everything.

This is the definition of a flare in the 2010 McDonald criteria:

An attack (relapse; exacerbation) is defined as patient-reported or objectively observed events typical of an acute inflammatory demyelinating event in the CNS, current or historical, with duration of at least 24 hours, in the absence of fever or infection. [Emphasis mine.]

If you aren't sure if you are having a flare, contact your neurologist and let him/her decide what's going on and what to do.
