@ Weekly Vets Muster on the MS deck, April 10 11

Weekly Muster on the mess deck

All veterans, active duty, family even LimboLanders are ALL welcome here. As veterans we have some different situations and issues than most civilian MSers. We deal with the VA and some of us get our medical care thru VA medical Centers, issues of getting help with disability and pensions etc.

Please......... Drop in and say HI at least once per muster. We want to know you are doing OK, hope better than just OK. With REGULAR musters we can get to know our fellow vets better and build a sense of UNITY. If you run across a fellow Vet elsewhere on MSWorld, please let them know we are here so they can join us.

Hope everyone is doing well !

The VA web site..... (link below) list notice of free monthly educational conference calls.

If you have not done so yet, please post an intro in the thread titled "Vets Master Muster & intros". Please post only your into there so it ONLY contains your into. You can always start a new thread for questions or other issues.

    How was YOUR week?
Any recent Doc appts or tests at the VA or elsewhere?

    Anything new coming up Soon?
    ...............................at the VA or elsewhere?

    SPRNG Has Sprung, a leak..lol

I hit the Cherry fest in Washington DC (mini R&R?) on my way down for a couple hrs and again on my return trip. Nice blooms but very little color April 2nd and most were Gone gone gone, plus RAIN the other day on my way back. Took a few, not many photos.

Randy... Glad to hear ya got your Ampyra.

Bob.. I like your Grass-Roots idea! Many of us are not over flowing with Ca$h. A dry barn sound good and one des not need to spend a bundle on food to ahve FUN either. In many area a motel-6 or similar can be found for $40-50 a room, so $20-25 a head, is a littel better than a C-note PLUS, just to bunk.

ON my road tips I usually just nap in Rest Areas enroute, cheaper than even a motel-6.

    Food at a submarine reunion?
That's a novel concept I never considered. I suppose you could spring for a bag of cornchips or some beef jerky at the beer store.

I'm still here, and so is the MS, unfortunately. Been having issues and really getting tired of it (but who isn't!).

The VA is setting me up with occupational therapy to see what equipment they can provide me with to help out. I'm really hoping I can get a walk-in bath tub. They were talking about a lift so that I can access my lower level in the house, and do my own laundry!!! Yea!!

They also suggested a cooling vest, which would be a big help, especially now that the warm weather is here. I'm thinking a cooling vest may even help me to exercise, as I get over-heated too fast.

Hope things are going well for all my comrades here!!
      MS, it's a brain thang!

        Coolin vest;

The VA gave me a cooling vest last year, It WORKS! It came with 2 set of gell-packs so I can wear one while the other spare set is either in a cooler or freezer.

I think the brand I picked (I had 2 choices) is a polar something? It make me, IMO, look more like a suicide bomber than a real suicide bomber.....lol

It has velcro and and adjusts to fit, but they do come in sizes, maybe just S,M,L or something. They measured my chest for size.
