Weekly Vets Muster on the MS deck, Feb 20 '11

Weekly Muster on the mess deck

All veterans, active duty, family even LimboLanders are ALL welcome here. As veterans we have some different situations and issues than most civilian MSers. We deal with the VA and some of us get our medical care thru VA medical Centers, issues of getting help with disability and pensions etc.

Please......... Drop in and say HI at least once per muster. We want to know you are doing OK, hope better than just OK. With REGULAR musters we can get to know our fellow vets better and build a sense of UNITY. If you run across a fellow Vet elsewhere on MSworld, please let them know we are here so they can join us.

Hope everyone is doing well !

The VA web site..... (link below) list notice of free monthly educatinal conference calls.

    Hi Gomer, hi all!
I'm still here, as is the MS. Neuro just increased my baclofen, and it has the mind all fuddled up. Still on the Rebif, and proud of myself for my attitude change....love the autoinjector, and have really made my shots a family affair! My 7 year old Grandson is so proud that he can give me my shot! Will be getting my liver functions tested tomorrow at the clinic.
    MS, it's a brain thang!
Proud to have served, U.S Army WAC

So, I got my labs back and things look normal (for me).
My appts tend to get clustered every six months but there sure seem to be a raft of them this time.
My Neuro is talking about scalling back the specialty stuff and having me seen by a more traditional primary doc unless things head south, which is cool. MRIs have now shifted to "if needed" which sounds harsh but its actually good news.
The only down side is that my blood pressure has gone up since starting Beta. I'm going to try some diet changes or maybe shift over to regular asprin.
Anyway, more appts in March with a new primary Doc where I'm sure they'll notice that I hit the 5-0 this summer, guess what I have to look forward to as a birthday present..

Otherwise, not sure if this is an Iowa thing or if anyone else is noticing it but the VA seems to be reacting to the possible Federal shutdown in D.C. by ramping up appointments. Anyone else notice a lot more appointments than normal?
