Weekly Vets Muster on the MS deck, Feb 6 2011

Weekly Muster on the mess deck

All veterans, active duty and family are ALL welcome here. As veterans we have some different situations and issues than most civilian MSers. We deal with the VA and some of us get our medical care thru VA medical Centers, issues of getting help with disability and pensions etc.

Please......... Drop in and say HI at least once per muster. We want to know you are doing OK, hope better than just OK. With REGULAR musters we can get to know our fellow vets better and build a sense of UNITY. If you run across a fellow Vet elsewhere on MSworld, please let them know we are here so they can join us.

Hope everyone is doing well !

    How was YOUR week?
Any recent Doc apts or tests at the VA or elsewhere?

Anything new comming up Soon? at the VA or elsewhere? I get my MS care at the VA but use my medicare for my other health care needs.

My Week......Survived the ground-hog storm, no shortage of flakes stacked high............lol Got my labs back for famdoc apt in just over a week. He is adamant I restart the statin, I am just as firm against it, at least for now. My mobility & stability has impproved since stopping it.

Yesterday I decided enough is enough on a knee pain issue, so I went to the local hospital's walk-in clinic. DANG it was quick, they called me back even before I left the intake desk. They usually have a long wait, but not 3 hrs like the VA MS clinic recently.

They did an X-ray and found a 1/4" x 1" bone tumor there. I was told more testing needs to be done and probably surgery. They sent me on my way complete with X-ray report (for Dr F/F) and pain killer Rx. My doctor Flip Flop will probably FLIP when he get the report.

I went there because me and Dr F/F (famdoc) are at odds over the statin/mobility issue, and its another mobility related thing, I felt he was not likely to listen under the circumstances.

38th wedding Aniversarylater this week, dang its been a long run. I did my aniversary shopping while waiting for my Rx from the walk-in, so that's out of the way. Never ahve to worry about when our aniversary is, the valentines displays in the stores never forget..........lol

I'm still here, so is the MS.... This has been a bad week, I've been down with the flu! I did get my flu shot, but apparently it was a different strain...back to bed.
    MS, it's a brain thang!
