Just a question for all those who went off Ty

I was just wondering about the experience with the other meds you have been put on if you were on Ty before. How is Gilenya compared to Ty is my biggest question. I am not going off Ty but I hear of so many drs. who were afraid of Ty so took their patients off and put them on something else. Was your dr. an M.S. specialist or just a general neuro? Inquiring minds like mine want to know what brought about the change when you were doing so well on Ty?

I took myself off Ty and went back on Copaxone. I'm doing much better now.

My dr. had 1 case of PML - that was it - he took all his TY people off of Ty (unless they really wanted it) and suggested Gilenya.

Shalimar, is your dr. an M.S. specialist or just a general neurologist?

My doctor is a well known MS specialist in the Chicago area, recommended to me by the NMSS. He prefers Copaxone or other treatments to Tysabri because of the risks of PML.
