    Lightheadedness/dizziness?

Today is day 3 and now I am experiencing dizziness. Feels like I am drunk when I walk! Anyone else experience this?

I often feel tipsy. I cannot for sure say it is attributable to the Tecfidera, the MS, or something totally unrelated.

I try to remember that most people have to work for it. Just kidding. For me, it doesn't make me unstable, just feels weird. I never fall. Sometimes I misjudge my distance from the wall and bump it or something, but maybe I'm just klutzy? I have a hard time knowing how to classify some of these very nebulous symptoms.

So maybe it has to do with the Tec. It's new for me since starting it.

      Hi javaddict and pwski929,

Maybe it is from the med, but then maybe not.

      Just fyi ~

      From the National MS Society:

"Dizziness is a common symptom of MS. People with MS may
feel off balance or lightheaded. Much less often, they have the sensation that they or their surroundings are spinning — a condition known as vertigo. These symptoms are due to lesions — damaged areas — in the complex pathways that coordinate visual, spatial and other input to the brain needed to produce and maintain equilibrium.

Usually, these symptoms respond to an anti motion-sickness drug such as meclizine (Antivert®, Bonine® or Dramamine®), the newer skin patches that deliver scopolamine, or the anti-nausea drug ondansetron (Zofran®). Consult your healthcare team if dizziness or vertigo becomes bothersome or lasts a long time; in severe cases, a short course of corticosteroids may be prescribed.

Other conditions that may cause dizziness include middle ear inflammation and benign tumors of the acoustic nerve that connects the ear and the brain"

        Thanks!

My neuro thought it had to do with my exercising. ? That was new to me. She didn't think it was the Tec or the MS.

I think MS is reason enough, might be other things but, I had the walking like a drunk for well over 2 years..no meds to cause it; was the most irritating presenting symptom of MS that took me to the ER.

Finally, my balance came back slowly in December and I am currently counting my blessings. When I am tired or too hot..it comes back...like in Pet Semetary: Be careful: they come Back:

Every single day, I wake up and I am able to negotiate a direct line to my destination; I am simply grateful.

Here's some hope it isn't MS and a virtual hug, you're going through all this. fed
