Flushing--tips beyond baby aspirin & PB?

I've been on Tec since October. Most of the symptoms (GI, fatigue) have really cleared up but the flushing has gotten worse. It will usually come on 2-4 hrs after my morning dose, which I take with breakfast (it often seems to be triggered by the next time I eat or drink).

Pre-medicating with baby aspirin helps some, but not always. My MS specialist also said some patients report decreased flushing if they eat some peanut or almond butter with their Tec, but that didn't seem to work for me either. She also recommended eating about 90% of the meal, then taking the Tec and finishing it. I'm still having problems though. Any other suggestions to try? It lasts about 30-60 minutes and sometimes it's NBD but some days (like right now and yesterday) it really burns.

I have also experienced a worsening of the flushing recently an have been on Tec since January. It was on just my neck and arms to start with and now encompasses my entire body from thighs up. I usually get mine about 2-4 hours after every dose. Today it has felt like a million bee stings across my chest and neck. I have noticed in the last month or so that it's about to start when I get a warm feeling like I just wet my pants. Rather unpleasant.

I notice that if I stay hydrated, I don't have the flushing. Today I had a 24 oz coffee and an iced tea at lunch and only 20 oz of water and all afternoon I've been flushed.

Too much caffeine and not enough water seems to bring it on for me in between doses.

The peanut butter with my morning pill helps as well.

Hope32--I went for a CT scan and when they got ready to inject the dye, the technician told me I may feel that...it was crazy and glad she warned me ahead of time! Sorry you experience it--it's not pleasant!

        Beyond baby Asa & PB??

My tips are a moderately full meal or just 2% milk which has carbs , protein, & fat .
But I am 6 mos. on Tec & having difficulty with flushing still. It has gotten worse - some episodes are hives & itching. Sometimes just random , no matter what is on my stomach. Good luck....

meals, fatty stuff, sausage, all that didn't work for me but it seems that just plain out peanut butter from the jar does.
Nauseating itself I know but at least I can leave the house and get things done and not worry about it...

            Applesauce

I have tried fat and a full meal to alleviate the flushing but it is too much food. The Walgreens nurse told me to try applesauce and it works. I don't even take the baby aspirin anymore.
