Please tell me this is not in my head

O.K. I had to go back on interferon...doc chose Rebif. I was on Avonex before.

Am I the only person who feels the medication sting when going in? All the Nurses at the Rebif Company think I am crazy. I don't mind the burn..it is short, but I just want someone to tell me it is normal.

Does anyone else get the burn?

Rebif DOES sting! It has a pH of 3.8, so it's pretty acidic.

Try a warm compress for about two minutes before injecting. It really helps alleviate the sting for me.

Thank-you both. I am going to try the tip of a warm compress.

The sting isn't bad and lasts only a few seconds.

This is my third DMD and the drug company nurses are really nice...super nice...but sometimes they don't seem to always tell the truth.

        Thanks again!

          burn is quick

Mine burns too. What I hate about it is it makes me so apprehensive to do the shots, I know what is coming... Your not crazy we all just live in a world of uncertainty.

Yes, it stung. Not as much as Copaxone, but there was a sting.

Rebif doesn't sting like copaxone for me. I dreaded copaxone, but rebif only stings occasionally. I do let everything come to room temp.
