I just started Copaxone about a month ago. I told neuro I don't like the daily shot. He mentioned I could try gilenya. My main concern is the macular edema. What is it? Has anyone on here had this happen to them? I have been on Avonex, rebif, tysabri and tecfidera. Tysabri worked great but I'm jcv+. The tecfidera didn't work for me.

I start on Gilenya Dec 5th and macular edema is a concern for me as well especially since I'm 63 and as we age our eyes have their own age related issues. So far I'm good to go. I will be having regular eye exams every 3-6 months to watch for any issues. I've got my friends praying that all goes well for me and this new medication since Rebif wasn't effective any longer and I had an adverse reaction to Copaxone. I know there are other meds out there but am hoping this works well out of the gate.
