Gilenya and prednisone

I have been taking gilenya for about 1 1/2 years. I am having my first flare while on gilenya. My neuro prescribed me a 40 mg oral prednisone taper. My question is...can I take these two medications at the same time even though they both suppress the immune system (I forgot to ask my neuro). I don't have time to get sick!
