    Macular edema

I've been on Gilenya for over a year with no problems until recently. At my last vision exam there was a little swelling in one eye. It's been a little blurrier lately. Is that what happens when you have the edema? How do you know if G is working or not?

The macula is a small circular area in the retina at the back of the eye and swelling can cause blurriness. Are you getting OCT measurements at the opthalmologists? If your macula is swelling, the neurologist would take you off gilenya. Call your opthalmologist, and your neurologist who read the report, to find out what exactly is going on with your eye. Good luck with this!
