    Heat and flares?

In spite of being on Gilenya for over 3 months, I just woke up with a flare up this morning (numb and weak hands, legs, dizziness). Am in the Chicago area and it has been super hot, as it has been in mos of the country. Any one else getting this?

    RE: Heat and Flare

Yes - the heat has one this battle. Weakness, numbness on the left side and dizziness as well. I can't wait for fall!!!

Hang in there. Try to stay cool, hydrated and get some rest.
    Dx - February 2011
    Copaxone and now Avonex
    Amantadine for fatigue

I've been attributing my recent flare up to stress and overdoing it (I'm studying for the bar exam) but the heat is probably another factor. I love the fall, but I'd be happy with just 90 degree temperatures at this point.

Sorry you are experiencing a flare.

This month and August are the hottest and most difficult for people with MS.

This is a good time to take it easy and not overdo.
In fact, now is when I have to stop way before I'm fatigued.

Have you contacted your Neuro for help with this flare?
