    6 Month Follow-Up

So in a complete about face from what I'd expected after reading the radiologist's report, my neuro went over both the most recent and my prior MRI with me and ALL of my lesions have either shrunk, grown less intense or for the most part completely disappeared.

My neurologist was ecstatic! She's certain that the myelin is being repaired and she also didn't see ANY new activity. My very biggest and most intense lesion is completely gone!!! A lot of the other lesions are also gone.

Obviously I'm ecstatic and so was she. She's had three gilenya patients have 6 month MRIS. Two of us had no new activity and had evidence that myelin was being repaired (shrinking, less intense or vanished lesions).

I hope that this can give some people some more hope about the drug. It definitely made my day.

Thanks to everyone for all of the help and advice when I'd thought that the opposite was true. (I've learned my life lesson of relying on the highly skilled MS specialist and not reading the radiologist report.) Turns out the Gilenya that I'd had such high expectations for actually lived up to them. My neuro specifically said that this definitely exceeded her expectations.

Thanks again everyone! Sorry to babble. I'm just so happy!!!

Wow! Sounds wonderful and that is such great news. My fiancé has just been diagnosed with MS and has yet to start any treatment (waiting on seeing the neuro) so I've been going through what meds we should try and I have read about Gilenya and hearing this really makes us both want him to be on it.

    Hope you do more updates
I am here for my fiancé. He is age 30 from Ohio but now lives in Missouri with me. I'm learning all I can about MS to pass on the info to him. He was DX right before his birthday May 2011 and he believes he might have had it since he was 15.
