    Informative resources regarding approved Disease Modifying Therapies

    FDA approved Disease Modifying Therapies
    • Avonex (interferon beta-1a) - a once-a-week self-injection
    • Aubagio (teriflunomide) - a once-a-day oral tablet
    • Betaseron/Extavia (interferon beta 1b) - an every-other-day self-injection
    • Copaxone 20 / Copaxone 40 (glatiramer acetate) - Copaxone 20 is self-injected daily. Copaxone 40 is self-injected 3x per week.
    • Gilenya (fingolimod)- a once-a-day oral tablet
    • Glatopa (generic equivalent for Copaxone, produced by Sandoz) - 20 mg self-injected daily/ 40 mg self-injected 3x per week
    • Glatiramer Acetate Injection (generic equivalent for Copaxone, produced by Mylan) - 20 mg self- injected daily/ 40 mg self-injected 3x per week
    • Lemtrada (alemtuzumab) - IV infusion given over the course of 5 consecutive days, followed 1 year later with a 3 day consecutive course.
    • Mavenclad (cladribine) - Oral medication administered orally and divided into 2 yearly treatment courses (1.75 mg per kg per treatment course). Each treatment course is divided into 2 treatment cycles.
    • Mayzent (siponimod) - After treatment titration (5 days) the recommended maintenance dosage is 2 mg taken orally once daily starting on Day 6
    • Novantrone (Mitoxantrone) - IV infusion given once every 3 months, limited to a maximum of two to three years.
    • Ocrevus (ocrelizumab) - IV infusion. 1st dose divided by 2 doses, then given once every 6 months
    • Plegridy (peginterferon beta-1a) - a once-every-14-day self-injectible med
    • Rebif (interferon beta-1a) - a 3-times-per-week self-injection
    • Tecfidera (dimethyl fumarate) - a twice-per-day oral capsule
    • Tysabri (natalizumab) - IV infusion given once every 4 weeks
    Vumerity (diroximel fumarate) Oral medication taken twice daily.
