Who take tramadol for pain and how do you like taking it

Tramadol is Ultram, I'm pretty sure.
I was Rx Ultram, and my problem was I couldn't urinate.
I'm not sure if that is a common side effect, but it is one of the side effects. I have enough issues with UTIs without adding more retention to the list, so I quit taking it and
the peeing problem cleared up.
Some people find great pain relief from it, and it's not supposed to be habit forming (because it's non narcotic)...but you might want to do some reading up on withdrawal from it, in case you start it and then at some time in the future decide to stop. I've seen several posts where people did have withdrawal symptoms after they quit.
My philosophy on meds is, "You never know if it'll help until you try." So I try to throw caution to the wind, and try any med the doctor thinks will help.. A lot of times, I can't continue them, but a lot of times I can.
