My Dr put me on lyrica for my nerve pain, but I could not handle it. He now wants me to try tegretol. Does anyone use this for nerve pain and what are your thoughts on it.

Tegretol aka carbamazepine
I use this for the last 3 years. I get these electrical shock like feelings in my leg. The stuff works great, it generally takes about two days without taking it to feel the shocks. -

Hello amerdamer,
I used Tegretol for a few weeks until I became suicidal (without depression) while taking it. It did not help my pain.
You will not know if Tegretol will help your pain until you give it a try
