Anyone ever take this for sleep and have it keep you awake all night?

Imipramine
Imipramine is a tricyclic anti-depressant and is the generic for the drug Tofranil. It has been FDA approved for over 30 years. If you read the prescribing literature for this drug you will see that it can have a whole host of side efffects. Of course, this does not mean that you will have any or all of them. If this was prescribed for you as a sleep aid I would question why it was chosen. There are so many other drugs that can be prescribed whose primary use is to aid sleep. It would appear that you are being given Tofranil as a so-called "off label" use. It is at least worth discussing with your prescribing physician. You should always report any side effects anyway.
