    Air travel w/Baclofen Pump

Anyone with the baclofen pump that has traveled ?

I am planning to travel internationally; and have read that the elevation when traveling by plane can potentially affect the dosage and may need to be checked ?

I will be seeing my doctor in couple of weeks and will ask - but thought I'd see if anyone has input/experience.

Not looking forward to the travel due to many mobility challenges but this is a new factor for me to add in my worries. My husbands family lives in Europe. Once we arrive we stay at his family home which I've done for years, but each year gets tougher as I progress.

    Thanks.

    Hi Blue

I have flown many times since I got my pump in 1999. I have had no issues with it. I tell them as I go through the scan...that I have a medical implant.

Of course, I get patted down & then I am on my way. I always carry my card from Medtronic but I have never been asked for it.

I haven't heard about air flight effecting the pump. It is good you are asking your dr. You may want them to check with the Medtronic rep about that issue.

    Take Care, Bob
