    The Story

    Hi,
Glad to join this wonderful community. Here is my story, in short. I am in my 30s.
6 months ago I got a suspicion of retrobulbar ON in OS (RAPD, superior nasal scotoma, mild pain). I went on steroids for 5 days. By day 6 the visual deficit gradually and totally gone.
    - Brain MRI + Gd in the acute phase: no ON enhancement, normal optic nerves, slight enhancement of the optic nerve sheath (unknown etiology). Several periventricular, supratentorial lesions, none active.
    - Spine MRI + Gd - fine
    - VEP at 11 weeks: N75 normal, P100 latency normal (106ms OS, 107ms OD, normal range at my lab <120ms) as well as amplitude (9.18uV OS, 13.21uV OD)
    - NO LP yet
    - MTHFR mutation, EPV chronic infection.
    - RNFL at 24w - fine, within normal limits.oi

I have been told by my neuro that MRI in acute phase +VEP at <3months have a 90-100% specificity for ON.
Now, I am in limbo and I feel like I am going crazy with all of this. Was that indeed ON at OS? Atypical scotoma, steroid responsive and rapid full recovery, MRI fine for ON, VEP and OCT normal...

    Thanks!
Working...
