    Mri? Is this MS?

I started having strange symptoms in 1012, it was mostly anxiety but then can the horrible headaches! I had a MRI and this is what it showed
The axial t2 and flair sequence demonstrates multiple punctate foci of white matter hyperintensity. The largest in the corona radiate 6.5 mm. Punctate foci are seen throuout the centrum semiovale and corona radiata in order of 1-2 mm. Tiny area seen in right occipital love.

I saw a neurologist that said to recheck in 6 months. There was no change in the Mri. I went for a second opinion and the neurologist said that it was ok and come see him in a year????
My symptoms resemble fibromyalgia a lot which is what the pain specialist said I had.
I had a recent Brain MRI and a spinal MRI in March and was sent to a different neurologist . The spine MRI was normal and the brainMRI said

Note made again of multiple punctate foci seen predominantly in sub cortical U fiber of the convexities as well as the centrum semiovale and corona radiata. No changes in size or numbers.

I don't know what to think. The last neuro said there was about 5-6 lesions in all. I see him again this month.
What do you make of this? Please help!

Hello Maggii999 and welcome to MSWorld.

It is best to ask your Dr. about what MRI findings might mean or indicate. Lesions or foci are anomalies that are seen on MRI and can have numerous causes.

The MRI report gives an "impression" section which will list the possible causes for MRI findings.

      Best wishes

Get a third opinion and see another kind of specialist

I wish I could help. Unfortunately I have no idea what you have or may be experiencing. You got a second opinion and it sounds like neither specialist is answering the questions you have and giving you the information you want.

I recommend getting a third opinion or going to see a different kind of specialist or a general practitioner. Remember, you are the client and you can call and ask about the doctor before making an appointment. Consider also seeing someone who is more holistic (as in considering your wellness on a larger scale) if you also have headaches and pain since those can be caused by a large number of things.

        Good luck!

          Headaches and weird MRI too

Hi, I am in a very similar situation, with lesions on MRI, but no change and nasty headaches, I have been currently diagnosed with migraine, but it's been a toss up all along between MS and migraine. Until something changes then I feel like I am just in limbo. Good luck
