**doing a happy dance** My pcp ordered an MRI....

for next week, I don't have to wait until I see the neurologist in July! She promised to call within 48 hours of having it done to let me know the results!
    DX Probable Benign MS 2006
    Changed to Fibromyalgia
    Seizure 2011
    Many new symptoms starting 1/2013

    Same here!

My neuro booked my MRI for August; gp took over and re-booked for May AND managed to convince them to give me a cancellation.

    I was grateful.

So glad your pcp was able to get this done!

You are both asking the right questions to the right people. Good for you. You have to be your own advocate.

That will be great if it really happens. If it doesn't I think you should start calling her at hour 49. If you don't follow up she might keep forgetting and it could go on for days. A lot of us can attest to that from experience.

I believe she will, she is not a real doctor, she is a Nurse Practitioner, I've been seeing her since my own doctor retired a few years ago. She has always been quite willing to work with me and encourage my "experiments" with vitamins and stuff

Jerry, it's hard to do when previously the system has worked.

But neurologist said "not ms" based on the first MRI (9 bright spots, couple of larger lesions), and not listening to any of the symptoms involving other parts of my body (at that point, intermittent hand weakness, dropping things )... according to him I had headaches.

Not even being taken to the ER while at a conference for a "stroke" impressed him. Meanwhile I just made sure that I had to drop something off at our family doc's when things were at their worst -- there has been a lot of worst in the last couple of months.

I'm so grateful that my gp pushed ahead -- it's been a pain/health blur since January, and my 2nd MRI did show that I met the McDonald Criteria (2010). Now it's still a wait for an actual Dx -- a long wait for the ms clinic. Still I'm three months ahead of where I would have been otherwise. (Although still behind because of first neuro's misdiagnosis of headaches and referring me to a headache specialist. I had facial pain, but never any plain ordinary headaches or migraines -- he absolutely refused to hear me.)

Thank God for my gp and staff :-).
