New and in need of advice (long story)

Its coming up on 2 years since i started having some very odd symptoms. I first started to notice a pulling or tightening sensation under my left breast but it was so slight that i wasnt sure if what i was feeling was real or just my imagination that lasted about 3mths coming and going. So on i went with my life.

Than i started with a burning sensation in my left lower leg that stayed for a few months. Went on a 5 hr road trip to see family for a weekend and complained the entire time that my feet felt swollen but didnt look swollen came home after 2 days of complaining to wake up with vertigo that gradually improved over the next week.

Went to doctor with my complaints and also started with burning in right arm so i told my gp what was happening she blew it off as normal for me.

Ok whatever let it....than 1 month later i had weakness on right side of my body only noticeable to me same time i my legs were on fire my back was on fire i had night sweats for about 4 days and had no bladder or bowel sensation did not become incontinent just could not feel the urge to go. that gradually improved and after about 2 weeks i was normal except i still had the burning in my arms and still do now.

I had a brain mri without contrast that showed 3 nonspecific lesions. cspine mri showed 3 herniated disks in my neck and tspine also showed severe degenerative disk disease the neuro i seen welcomed me to my thirties asked to see me in a year to repeat my head mri.

I had a repeat head mri at 6 montths due to new symptoms that showed no changes. I see an ms specialist in april. I am just looking for advice i still have the burning and the weakness seems to come on than improove only to come back again. All the bloodwork i have had so far has been normal. Lyme was negative.

I take amytryptalene(sp?) does nothing but i dont' want to stop incase it is helping and the burning gets worse. I live in ontario canada so trying to get into see a specialist is like walking thru a maze. But my appt is coming up soon. what are your thoughts on my symptoms? also i have had nonstop ringing in my ears since last january

You are doing the right things by asking your doctors to keep investigating. I am not a doctor but I think you need to know something about this disease that I figured out.
It would be advisable to limit your protein to 10% to 20% of your daily calories. It is better to eat more fruits and vegetables.
It is also advisable to have your vitamin D, vitamin B-12 and magnesium level tested and optimized. You may find that you will be low in these nutrients and optimizing them will have a positive effect on the symptoms that you have explained. Don't be afraid to ask for the blood tests.

thanks for the reply. I have asked for my D levels to be checked and because im not 36 not 66 my gp has refused to check them saying it is a very expensive test and not required of someone my age apparently.

I had my b12 level done it was on the lower end of normal so i did supplement and had them rechecked in 3 months and it went up to over 400 but i do take d3 5000 units a day.

When i see the ms specialist at st.mikes in toronto in april i will be asking him to recheck everything my gp has already checked and see if he will order the D test.

I am sorry that you are in Limbo too.
It sounds like you are doing all you can. Ditto for your doctor.
I am glad that you are going to see an MS specialist soon.
